Veino's Wine Thursday: Luscher & Matiesen Muhu Winehouse

Welcome back to Veino’s Wine Thursday and to something extraordinary from Estonia. This time we are happy to host Peke Eloranta - the sommelier, wine grower, wine maker, managing director of Luscher & Matiesen, the man behind the concept of Luscher & Matiesen Muhu Winehouse!

Peke Eloranta will introduce wines from MATIESEN, accompanied by stories of Luscher & Matiesen's history and growing grapes in cold climates.

We will be tasting six unique and rare grape wines made from grapes grown in Muhu. They will be joined by a native rhubarb dessert wine.

Luscher & Matiesen Muhu Winehouse is one of the world's northernmost wine farms and Estonia's first wine farm (to grow grapes). Luscher & Matiesen was Estonia's premier winery already before WWII.

We will be tasting the following wines:

• MATIESEN Dessert Sweet Rhubarb 2025

Each wine will be served 7.5 cl alongside snacks to enhance the wines. Wines will be introduced and poured, with stories to go with them, by Peke Eloranda and Veino's team – this is no academic masterclass but a fun evening to discover one exceptional winehouse🍇.

Depending on the participants, the event will be in Estonian and/or English.
