Master the art of live storytelling: 3-day course

Friday 28. February at 18:30 - Sunday 2. March at 17:00

CID Fraen an Gender, Luxembourg

Everyone has a story in them. But telling personal stories may not come naturally to everyone.

In this three-part workshop for adults, you can learn how to tell a rich and personal story and bring audiences with you on the journey.

What is storytelling?

Storytelling is the social and cultural activity of sharing stories, sometimes with improvisation, theatrics, or embellishment. Every culture has its own stories or narratives, which are shared as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation or instilling moral values. If you're new to storytelling, I recommend checking out Mike Birbiglia and The Moth Hour on Youtube.

What should I bring with me?

Please bring a notebook and pen. You don't need to come with a story in mind. I will provide you with a story. Over the three days, I will take you step by step through the process of retelling an existing story, finding your own story and identifying the message.

There will also be plenty of games and group work so it is essential that participants can attend all 3 sessions.

When is it?

The 3-day workshop takes place on the following dates:

18:30-21:00 on Friday 28 February
15:00-19:00 on Saturday 1 March
11:00-17:00 on Sunday 2 March

To get the most out of the workshop, I strongly recommend participants attend all 3.

On the last day, there will be a chance for everyone to tell their own story in front of the group, if they feel comfortable.

Included in the participation fee is tea and coffee. You may also bring your own food and there will be refreshment breaks over the three days.

Because of space limitations, advance registration is compulsory.
