Market Root Vol.9: A Korean Winter Market ☃️❄️

A little more of Korea, a warm welcome in East London.

Join Market Root at Hoxton Docks on 5-6 December for a winter weekend of independent creativity, food and good company. For Vol.9, we’re weaving a little more of Korea into the market, drawing on the everyday moments that make winter feel like winter to us.

For the Root team, those memories include sharing tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and eomuk (Korean fish cakes) with friends on cold winter streets, enjoying hotteok (sweet pancakes) and bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastries), sharing tangerines while tucked under a warm blanket, and catching up as the year draws to a close. These are the memories behind the mood of Vol.9: familiar warmth, good company and small things to enjoy together.

Founded in London by Korean creatives, Market Root brings together independent designers, artists, makers and brands. Come to meet the people behind the work, discover something you love and find a thoughtful gift - for someone else or yourself. Bring a friend, take your time browsing, and make an afternoon of it.

☃️ What to expect ☃️

• Independent finds with a personal touch - explore fashion, jewellery, art, ceramics and lifestyle pieces from 40+ independent creatives and brands.

• A taste of Korean winter - look forward to KIWA bunsik street-food favourites: tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), eomuk (Korean fish cakes), sundae (Korean blood sausage), ONMA gimbap, Korean fried chicken and Special Participant's bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastries), plus HOHO hotteok (sweet filled pancakes) on Sunday only.

• Something to sip as you browse - makgeolli, cocktails, coffee and matcha.

• A little extra care for your gifts - a gift-wrapping zone, with access included in VIP tickets, to add the finishing touch to your market finds.

• Time to gather - catch up with friends over food and drinks in a cosy year-end atmosphere inspired by the Root team’s winters in Korea.

☃️ Free entry (book your arrival time) ☃️

Entry to Market Root Vol.9 is free, with an advance time-slot booking required. Select your day and quantity, click Proceed, then choose an arrival window for each person. Each free-entry ticket includes a London restaurant discount voucher.

Your time slot is your arrival window only. You are welcome to stay and enjoy the market after your arrival window ends, until the event closes. 🩵

• Saturday 5 December: 11am–1pm, 1pm–3pm and 3pm–5pm — 200 places per slot; 5pm–6pm — 100 places.

• Sunday 6 December: 11am–1pm and 1pm–3pm — 200 places per slot; 3pm–5pm — 200 places.

Enjoy a little more of Market Root with a VIP day ticket, limited to 150 tickets for Saturday and 150 for Sunday across all price stages.

Each VIP ticket includes:

• One drink - a cafe drink, beer or spirit

VIP ticket prices

• Early bird: £6 - until 11:59pm on Sunday 15 November 2026.

• Advance: £7 - from Monday 16 November until 11:59pm on Wednesday 2 December 2026.

• Standard: £8 - online from Thursday 3 December and at the venue during the event, subject to availability.

All sale times are London time. VIP tickets are valid for the selected day. Food, drinks and purchases from individual stalls are charged separately, except for the drink and dessert included with a VIP ticket.
