A young Eastern European woman has no idea what to do in life so she moves abroad, tries out some stuff, moves again, makes some highly questionable decisions (7 years studying… art?! WHAT FUN!), moves again, tries out more stuff, becomes a stand up comedian, does that all around Europe, then writes up her first solo show and performs it in her hometown for her family and friends in a foreign language. And quickly moves again.

Welcome to “Overconfident+Underprepared”, Mari Volar’s first solo hour. From tales of immigrant living and unfortunate foreign policies all the way to being mistaken for beloved celebrities in foggy parks, this comedy show has it all.

Mari will open corners in her soul she herself hasn't explored before, in the hopes it proves to be funny for strangers on and off the internet.

Who actually IS Mari Volar?

Mari Volar is an international comedian, MC and event producer from Estonia. She can often be seen on stage in various cities across Europe, where she performs as an independent comedian, or hosting comedy events with her collective Clit Comedy Club. She is also a co-founder and producer of Festrogen Festival in Luxembourg and produces comedy shows in Cologne with Random Things Comedy.

Mari proudly brings more feminism into her comedy and more comedy into her feminism, creating an over-the-top mix in both that simply cannot be missed.Her witty remarks and tales of immigrant living will make you love, hate and pity her in perfectly equal amounts.

Mari has previously taken part in various festivals across Europe (Hundertpro and Tallinn Fringe to name a few) and she is currently touring with her 2-women comedy show “The Clitoris Act” as well as making the rounds with her first solo hour.
