Estonian singer, songwriter and contemporary folk musician Mari Kalkun invites you to enjoy her cozy solo concert “The Snow’s Sleep” on December 20th 7 pm (CEST), streamed live straight from her own home studio in idyllic Võrumaa. The high-quality concert, both in sound and picture, is a look back on the strange year we’re leaving behind and a hopeful glance towards the magical end of the year ahead of us. Mari will perform both new and older music, including previously unpublished songs. She accompanies herself on kannel, guitar, piano, harmonium and improvises on small instruments, all at hand in her rich instrument park at home.

Mari Kalkun's music is like a refuge from which she draws peace and security and offers it to others as well. "I hope that this concert will reach homes, kitchens and living rooms around the world. This concert is also my expression of gratitude to the listeners, from whom I have received so much feedback and strength this year thanks to the Apple Orchard Album,” ponders the musician. “The stories from people, who have had to spend a lot of time alone in isolation this year, have hit especially close to heart. But even though the world is locked down, I can still invite you to my home virtually. Take a seat beside the warm stove, crackling with fire, and wander into my world of music,” she says. May we hear music and gather some peace of mind in our hearts over the holidays!

Watch the concert LIVE or rewatch the stream until the Epiphany day, January 6th 2021.

By buying a concert ticket, you support the purchase of a modern record player for Rõuge care home.

Giveaway: A personally signed copy of Apple Orchard Album will be drawn among the ticket buyers.
