Join Ranger Toni and Pauline on Wednesday the 12th of August at 1pm to become a Mad Scientist creating your own life forms.
For this quest you will gather your specimens from the forest floor, fibres, spores, cells and, through imagination and experimentation, combine your discoveries into entirely new lifeforms. Sketch them. Name them. Breathe story into them. What creature might emerge from moss and mycelium? What could be born from pollen and pond water? Use Bennel Wood as your own laboratory.
This is session is for children aged 8-12 years old. Children can be left unaccompanied, but parents and guardians are more than welcome to stay and play too! Children will be supervised by two Forest School Leaders who are PVG checked. Please note: If your child requires additional support or has behavioural needs, we kindly ask that a parent or carer accompanies them during the session, as we are unable to provide 1:1 support.
These events are led by Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands with funding from the D&G Coastal Benefit Fund.
