ma(a)enades: searching for dionysus

This is the first breath of Ma(a)enades – a contemporary dance opera dreaming its way towards Tallinn in 2028.

We are spending two weeks inside Ellamaa Elektrijaam, learning to listen. To the hum of its stillness. To light falling through tall windows. To the forest pressing at its edges, patient and slow.

A chorus of bodies moving to become landscape. A love song not afraid of death.

During this residency, we seek what it means for a body to become more-than-human, to move at the pace of rain and roots and rust. We are searching for dionysus.
