PULSE TRIO & JAZZ JAM @ M/DARBNICA

PULSE TRIO ir pašmāju bundzinieka un komponista Paula Pokratnieka radošo izpausmju platforma, kurā mijiedarbojoties ar Zviedru pianistu Fabian Kallerdahl un Somu kontrabasistu Olli Rantala, tiek radīta mūzika, kas nepazīst žanru robežas. Improvizācija, kā sastāva stūrakmens, virzās caur Pokratnieka komponētām melodijām un harmonijām, pieskaroties klasiskajai un džeza mūzikai, kā arī popmūzikas, folkmūzikas un elektroniskās mūzikas elementiem.

Šis būs vienīgais grupas koncerts Latvijā šogad, kura laikā tiks prezentēts februārī izdotais
debijas albums The End Is The Beginning, kurš 7 mēnešu laikā klausīts jau vairāk nekā
150.000 reizes Spotify platformā un ir iekļauts lielākajā džeza mūzikas “plejlistē” pasaulē -
State Of Jazz.

Dziesmas no šī albuma ir iekļautas gan “Jazz In Latvia 2022” CD kompilācijā, gan European Jazz Media Chart.
Pauls Pokratnieks ir Rīgas Doma kora skolas absolvents, ieguvis bakalaura un maģistra grādu džeza mūzikā Hāgas Karaliskajā universitātē Nīderlandē. Pēdējos divpadsmit gadus bāzējies Nīderlandē un Zviedrijā, aktīvi muzicējot visā Eiropā un pasniedzot mūziku savā privātskolā. Šī gada aprīlī izcīnijis 2. vietu starptautiskajā džeza bundzinieku konkursā “Riga Jazz Stage 2022”.

PULSE TRIO is a platform for the creative expressions of the latvian drummer and composer
Pauls Pokratnieks, in which through interactions with the Swedish pianist Fabian Kallerdahl and
the Finnish double bassist Olli Rantala trio creates music that does not know the boundaries of
genres. Improvisation, as the cornerstone of the composition, moves through melodies and
harmonies composed by Pokratnieks, touching on classical and jazz music, as well as elements
of pop music, folk music and electronic music.
This will be the only group concert in Latvia this year, during which the debut album The End Is
The Beginning, released in February, will be presented, which has already been listened to more
than 150,000 times on the Spotify platform in the last 7 months and is included in the largest
playlist of jazz music - State Of Jazz. Songs from this album are included both in the "Jazz In
Latvia 2022" CD compilation and in the European Jazz Media Chart.
Pauls Pokratnieks is a graduate of the Riga Dome Choir School, he obtained a bachelor's and
master's degree in jazz music at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the Netherlands. He has
been based in the Netherlands and Sweden for the past twelve years, actively playing music
throughout Europe and teaching music at his private school. In April of this year, Pauls won 2nd
place in the international jazz drummers competition "Riga Jazz Stage 2022".

Fabian Kallerdahl is one of Sweden's most sought-after jazz pianists, works as a composer in
the band MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC and is the founder of the colorful jazz music label HOOB
Records.
