Open Lecture: Why World Class Technology Does Not Equal Startup Success: Examples From UC Berkeley & Silicon Valley

RTU Scientific Library, Riga

Why doesn't world-class technology always translate into successful startups? How do research breakthroughs and technological innovations become viable business ventures?

Join Chris Bush and Rhonda Shrader from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business for an open lecture exploring technology commercialisation, startup development, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Silicon Valley.

Drawing on real-world examples from UC Berkeley and Silicon Valley, the speakers will discuss what it takes to bring breakthrough technologies to market, why great technology alone is not enough to build a successful startup, and what factors help turn promising ideas into thriving businesses.

The lecture is particularly relevant for students, researchers, startup founders, and anyone interested in technology entrepreneurship and the commercialisation of research.

Featuring:

Chris Bush – Executive Director, Institute for Business Innovation, UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
