Back by popular demand, our third Comedy Night is coming to Fuel Road House on Saturday 12th September 2026. Brought to you by Comedy Republic

Join us for another fantastic evening of live stand-up featuring an incredible mix of award-winning comedians, rising stars and one of the UK's most original headline acts. Expect big laughs, great food, cold drinks and a brilliant atmosphere all night long.

A portion of the evening's profits will once again support LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) and their work in farming education.

Jay Handley – Headliner

Jay Handley is a top-tier UK stand-up comedian, resident compere, and former craftsman who famously traded a career in sculpting beautiful oak furniture to pursue the financially catastrophic yet artistically rewarding world of live comedy. Hailing from the Midlands, Jay has established himself as a prominent voice on the UK circuit, known for his sharp observational style, imaginative joke-writing, and a seamless blend of anecdotal and confessional humour.

An enduring favourite at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2011, Jay is celebrated for performing fresh, acclaimed solo hours back-to-back with his legendary, rowdy late-night shows at the Banshee Labyrinth. His successful solo hours include Free Comic, Free Comic Vol 2, You Want the Truth? You Can't Handley the Truth, Hansplaining, and his hit special White Jesus.

When he isn’t hosting as the resident MC at the Fat Penguin Comedy Club, Jay headlines and performs at the country’s most prestigious comedy institutions. His extensive stage credits include The Comedy Store, The Glee Club, Top Secret Comedy Club, The 99 Club, The Hackney Empire, and Indigo @ The O2.

Jay is a two-time finalist at the Birmingham New Act of the Year Awards and reached the finals of the LOADED Laftas and Levity Festival Act of the Year, embracing his status as a runner-up with a zen-like comic presence.

Joe Fortis - Middle act

Described by promoters as a "genuine powerhouse of comedy," Joe is a fast-rising star on a one-man mission to rock the comedy circuit. Madeleine Brettingham - Opener

An absolute powerhouse writer-performer who took the comedy circuit by storm after winning the prestigious So You Think You're Funny 2025 competition. Celebrated by Frankie Boyle as “one of the best joke writers in comedy today". Madeleine brings a razor-sharp, gag-packed, and distinctive worldview to the stage that you won't want to miss.
