A gripping murder mystery...
A gripping, poetic, and wildly original theatrical experience.
Based on the novel by Nobel Prize Laureate Olga Tokarczuk, this powerful production takes you deep into a snowy, secluded village in Poland, where mysterious deaths begin to unsettle the quiet forest community. What unfolds is far more than a murder mystery—it's a haunting, satirical, and deeply moving story about truth, justice, and the fragile bond between humans and nature.
At the heart of the play is Janina Duszejko—an eccentric retired teacher, stargazer, and animal lover—portrayed with brilliance and fierce honesty by the legendary Lia Akhedzhakova. When no one else will act, she steps up to uncover a dark secret hidden in the woods.
Joining her on stage are Aleksandr Feklistov as the warm and loyal Good News, and singer-actress Musya Totibadze, who gives voice to Janina’s inner world through stunning live performances of songs inspired by the mystical poetry of William Blake.
With striking visuals, live music, and unforgettable characters, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead is a bold and poetic production—equal parts noir thriller, philosophical fable, and emotional odyssey.
