Step behind the scenes of performance The Space Between Us Is Not Empty and get a taste of choreographer Rūta Ronja Pakalne’s methods of working on movement research.
What happens when we stop trying to get it “right”?
Through playful movement tasks, improvisational research, partner work and group scores, we’ll explore connection, attention, trust, influence, awkwardness and failure as tools for creating movement.
We’ll play with the space between bodies, how we affect each other, follow, resist, interrupt and transform.
Along the way, we’ll get a glimpse into Rūta’s choreographic process and the ways she works with movement research, observation, improvisation and composition to turn movement tasks and unexpected moments into material.
Exploring choreography from an unconventional angle. No right answers. Just bodies, curiosity, and a little willingness to lose control.
Come move, experiment and see what happens.
Duration: 2h
Note: take comfortable clothes for moving (preferably long pants and also option to have long sleeves top)
The workshop is meant for everyone, no prior dance or movement experience needed.
