A mother and her two daughters move to bustling Taipei. The determined trio starts running a noodle stand at a lively night market. The stall may not become a great success, but the three remain united. The youngest daughter is enchanted by the energy and excitement of the big city.

The girl’s grandfather scolds her for using her left hand, as according to old beliefs it is “the devil’s hand.” The girl takes his words literally. Long-kept family secrets begin to come to light.

The producer, editor and co-screenwriter of Left-Handed Girl, Sean Baker, is best known for directing the Oscar-winning sensation Anora. The debut feature by Shih-Ching Tsou, who has earned acclaim as a producer (including The Florida Project), captures the kaleidoscope of Taipei’s neon lights, the circus of life, and the sense of adventure.
