On February 22, the charming resort city of Göteborg will host one of the most charismatic and professional speakers in the field of culture - Artur Cheh. He brings his perhaps most provocative lecture:
🔞Sex in the History of Art🔞
Art always speaks about life and reflects on the main human needs. What are the fundamental desires of humans? Of course - food, sleep, and sex. Throughout the ages, people have depicted sexuality in various aspects to understand not only their bodies but also their relationships with one another, as well as the possibilities of interaction.
This lecture explores the sexual culture of all times and nations - from primitive and archaic cultures of Egypt and Greece to the XXI century. The excursion will vividly demonstrate through masterpieces how sex transformed from a sacred ritual into a way to talk about anything but oneself. Along the way, it will shed light on just how much sex is present in our familiar and beloved masterpieces of visual art.
Arthur is currently one of the top speakers in the field of arts studies. His lectures attract hundreds of people in more than 20 major cities around the world (from London to Almaty). His lectures engage the audience with their lightness, accessibility, and abundance of humor, while the volume and freshness of the material are never compromised. Arthur has found a way to teach the audience to understand art easily and deliciously, speaking with them in a comprehensible modern language.
