Latitude59 x Kenya is a platform for African and international founders to find valuable connections, discuss innovation, and overcome obstacles with the support and know-how of the global community. We build bridges and import the know-how of global industry experts to increase the sustainability and competitiveness of the local market, workforce, and business environment.
This year's focus is on giving everyone in the startup ecosystem — founders, the people supporting them, investors and policymakers — the knowledge and skills to level up.
Here's what we'll be getting into:
⚡ From curiosity to capability — what it actually takes to go from idea to company. Building and testing products, managing money, hiring your first team, surviving the bits that go wrong. Honest lessons from people who have been through it.
⚡ AI as your co-founder and teacher — how founders here are using AI to validate ideas, write code, understand customers and automate the boring parts.
⚡ Getting funded — demystified from both sides of the table. What investors are looking for and what African founders need.
⚡ Building stronger ecosystems — for the incubators, accelerators, hubs and ESOs. Helping the people who support setter programmes, peer learning across Africa and Europe, and the institutional muscle to work beyond the capital cities.
⚡ Policy that works — structured learning for the public sector. Which regulations are getting in the way, what's working elsewhere, and what founders need governments to do differently.
December 3rd is reserved for Investor Day. The main conference day is 4 December, running across the main stage, the pitching stage, multiple masterclass rooms, the startup demo area and the matchmaking space. Expect many side events and gatherings across Nairobi during the entire Latitude59 week!
