Typographic knitting is writing with yarn. In this workshop, you’ll learn the basic techniques and knit your first word.
Typeknitting explores the typographic potential of various hand-knitting techniques like Fair Isle, slip stitches, mosaic, and patchwork knitting. It creates a dialogue between digital typography and analog craftsmanship.
At the start, you will get an overview of different Typeknitting techniques and possible points of connection for your own knitting projects. With the beginner-friendly Typeknitting font "Knit Hello," you will learn the basic principles that will allow you to design your own name tags, Instagram memes, scarves, and blankets.
