Laetatis String Quartet "In the Embrace of Beauty"

Saturday 7. June at 19:00 - 20:30

White Hall of the University of Tartu Museum

The Laetatis String QuartetFederico Mechelli Uhl, Marta Mutso, Teresa Järve, and Camillo Cabassi — invites you to a summery evening of chamber music in the historic White Hall of the University of Tartu Museum.

This concert precedes the quartet’s upcoming performance at the international music festival "Il Suono Giovane" in Florence, featuring the same carefully curated program.

Bringing together young musicians from Italy and Estonia, Laetatis is driven by a spirit of curiosity and a shared love for the intimate and expressive nature of chamber music. The evening's repertoire spans the elegant clarity of the Classical tradition and the lyrical richness of the late Romantic era.

The name Laetatis is derived from the Latin word laetitia, meaning joy, delight, and inner radiance. It reflects the ensemble’s belief in music as a shared source of joy – a language that connects people, evokes deep emotions, and builds bridges between cultures.

Program:

Joseph Haydn (1732–1809)
String Quartet Op. 76 No. 3 in C major, "Emperor"

Giacomo Puccini (1858–1924)
"Chrysanthemums"

Alexander Borodin (1833–1887)
