Extreme Tour: Joaorg Factory - From Basement to Tower (EST, ENG)

Saturday 7. September at 17:00 - 18:30

Krenholm old Gate • Joala 32, 20103 Narva, Ida-Viru, Estonia

Online ticket sales has ended.

The history of Krenholm textile factories can be seen as a perfect guide to studying the global textile industry of the 19th-20th centuries: dizzying economic booms and sharp declines, an unprecedented scale of production for Estonia, and fateful partnership agreements. The construction of an entire textile town around the factory buildings and the incredible stories of workers who ended up here by fate are all part of this rich history.

We will cover all of this during our new tour, which takes place inside the Joaorg Factory – a red-brick building with a tower offering breathtaking views. Being one of the last to close in the Krenholm complex, the Joaorg Factory has best preserved the atmosphere of the enterprise: the hum of spinning machines still lingers in the walls, and the steps still remember the hundreds of feet running up and down...

Since the building has been vacant for several years, it has no electricity and some hazardous areas. Therefore, the number of participants in the group is limited, age 16+
, and all participants must undergo a safety briefing and wear protective helmets at the start of the tour.

Facilities: During the tour, you can park your car/bus for free in the parking lot located near the entrance.
