Originally conceived by Nicolas Winding Refn in the mid-2000s, HER PRIVATE HELL finally reached the screen after years of rewrites, abandoned versions and changing creative ambitions. The result is one of the most personal and uncompromising films of his career.
Set within the worlds of fashion, pornography and exploitation cinema, HER PRIVATE HELL follows a young woman's descent into an increasingly seductive and dangerous underworld. Like much of Refn's work, the story unfolds as much through atmosphere, colour and music as it does through dialogue, inviting audiences into a dreamlike world where beauty and violence exist side by side.
Best known for DRIVE, ONLY GOD FORGIVES and THE NEON DEMON, Refn has always blurred the line between art-house cinema and genre filmmaking. HER PRIVATE HELL feels like the culmination of those ideas, combining hypnotic imagery, stylised performances and an uncompromising visual style into a film that's impossible to mistake for anyone else's.
Whether you love or hate it, this is the kind of film that demands to be experienced on the biggest screen possible. Expect to leave with plenty to discuss long after the credits roll.
FOOD AND DRINK POLICY: FOMO Cinema Lounge Bar opens 1 hour before the first screening of the day and closes at 02:00, serving a wide selection of beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic refreshments, as well as fresh hot popcorn! Outside food is allowed in the bar but not in the cinema. No alcohol from outside allowed. All guests are invited to arrive early and stay late!
