From the multi-award-winning director Aleksi Salmenperä, Isänpäivä (Father's Day) is an honest tragicomedy about the measures by which we judge success in life.

Veikko (Tommi Korpela) helps his friend Tinke (Tomi Lindfors) navigate everyday life in a supported housing unit. Tinke has drunk himself into poor health, and what keeps him going is a dark sense of humour born from life's hardships. When Saimi's (Laura Birn) teenage twin daughters (Vilja and Varpu Rintanen), who know Tinke from the friends' former days in a band, decide to find out who their father is, their search leads them to Tinke. Saimi is determined to prevent the twins from meeting him, but Veikko, who finds himself caught in the middle, believes otherwise.

Appearing alongside Salmenperä's longtime collaborator Tommi Korpela, Tomi Lindfors brings deeply personal experience of life on society's margins to this bittersweet story. Lindfors and Korpela's decades-long real-life friendship previously appeared on screen in Salmenperä's Jussi Award-winning film Tyhjiö.
