Inherited stories, silence stories: exploring heritage and taboo through play, images and collective creation.

Duration: 2 hours

This interactive workshop invites participants to explore the visible and invisible aspects of heritage through theatre games, creative expressions and collective reflection. Using movement, collage, drawing and storytelling, participants will reflect on the tradition, values and stories we inherit as well as the silence and taboos that shape our identities and community.

No artistic or theatre experience is required. The workshop is facilitated in English.

The workshop offers a welcoming space for imagination, dialogue and collaboration, culminating in a collective installation of both shared memories and untold stories.

About the facilitator:

Giulia Lepori is an Italian sociologist whose work lives at the intersection of mental health, art, and creative exploration. During her university years in Turin, she co-founded an artistic laboratory, Flux Lab, that became a living space for experimentation, dialogue, and collective creation. Over seven years, she worked across multiple artistic languages, curating workshops, exhibitions, courses, and public events.

Her path led her to a one-year art therapy training grounded in a psychodynamic approach, deepening her interest in creativity as a tool for care, expression, and transformation. Giulia has facilitated creative workshops with adults, adolescents, children, and people with disabilities, shaping spaces where art becomes a shared process rather than a finished product. In 2024, she brought her practice to Helsinki, organizing her first creative workshop in collaboration with Mieli Without Borders during Mental Health Art Week.

Since then, she has facilitated several creative workshops, ranging from private events to cultural events focused on mental health and well-being with non-governmental organisations, such as Mieli without Borders and Miitti, to collaborations with institutions such as, most recently, in April 2026, the Museum of Modern Art, Ateneum, facilitating a creative workshop on the theme of belonging, inspired by the photovoice social research method.
