Artist's Choice: "Fragments: A Selection of Artists’ Films"

In the second half of May, Kai Cinema will present a film program curated by artist Paul Kuimet, created in dialogue with the exhibition "Exploded View". The films will be screened over four evenings and form part of the exhibition’s public programme.

Each screening begins with an introduction by Paul Kuimet, in which the artist outlines the background of his selection and offers viewers possible perspectives for experiencing the film.

"Fragments: A Selection of Artists’ Films" is a special screening that brings five international artist films to the Kai Cinema screen. The selection weaves together intimate archives, poetic spatial experiences, and shifts in documentary form, revealing—through artists of different generations—how memories, narratives, and identities take shape in the language of film.

The programme offers a chance to experience the short film as an autonomous artistic medium. Each work opens its own rhythm and sense of space, inviting the viewer to notice details, silences, and fragments that together form a multilayered whole.

The entrance is with exhibition ticket. There are also limited number of program passes that grant access to all four screenings as well as the exhibition.
