Facilitated by Jah-Mir Early at Hyphae Collective.
Mastering improv poetry techniques:
Improv Poetry in its purest form is the ability to get on stage, behind the mic, in the centre of the cipher and create in the moment. Drawing on the speaker's life, feeling, observation. It’s the harnessing of their vocabulary, their inborn voice and abilities. To build in the moment a powerful and true expression.
Practicalities:
We will be upstairs at Barnaby's Lounge, Hastings. After the hour-long workshop, the Hyphae Collective jam will take place downstairs as always, with lots more chances to perform improv poetry with the band. This is a spoken workshop so you don't need to bring anything, just yourself (but a poetry notebook is an optional extra).
