How Propaganda Works

Saturday 23. November at 18:00 - 20:00

Niwa Hotel • 1 Chome-1-16 Misakicho, Chiyoda City, 101-0061 Tokyo, Japan

Tamara Natanovna Eidelman — historian, writer, teacher, and author of a popular YouTube channel with over 1 million subscribers — will give her first lecture in Japan on November 23rd.

For centuries, the methods of manipulating the minds of thousands and millions of people have remained almost unchanged. Today, propagandists have far more powerful technologies at their disposal, but why do millions suddenly begin to believe the most absurd and cruel ideas? Perhaps propaganda has found the weak spots that make people defenseless? Can we protect ourselves from its influence? During the lecture, Tamara Eidelman will explore the history and mechanisms of propaganda alongside the audience to understand how it affects the human mind.

The lecture will be held in Russian. After the lecture, attendees will have the opportunity to ask Tamara questions, take photos with her, and get books signed.

The lecture will take place on November 23rd at 6:00 PM in the SAN hall of the NIWA Hotel, Tokyo.

Please note that seating is extremely limited as the venue is small, so early booking is highly recommended.
