Navaratri is a 9-day festival dedicated to Durga, where Shakti is thanked and a different manifestation of the Mother Goddess is honored each day. The scriptures say that the Mother Goddess brought goodness and wisdom to victory, defeating all evil and darkness.
Navaratri is divided into three periods
The first three days honor Goddess Durga in the form of Kali, who dispels ignorance and fears, gives peace and courage to stay on her path.
The next three days honor Goddess Durga in the form of Lakshmi, who bestows both worldly and spiritual wealth, cultivates generosity to recognize abundance and beauty both within oneself and in the outside world.
The last three days honor Goddess Durga in the form of Saraswati, who represents purity and knowledge, is a source of inspiration for the expression of fine arts and crafts.

Shailputri, the "Daughter of the Mountains," is the first form of Durga and an incarnation of Parvati, the consort of Shiva and the mother of Ganesha and Kartikeya. She symbolizes the power of Mother Nature, carrying a trident, a lotus, and a crescent moon while riding the bull Nandi.
In yogic traditions, she is associated with the root chakra, from where the spiritual ascent towards Shiva begins. The first day of Navaratri is considered especially auspicious for starting yogic practices. Shailputri embodies maternal energy, bringing peace, balance, and support in discovering one's spiritual potential.

Navaratri - 2. Brahmatšarini, 31.03.2025: on-site participation
Devi Brahmacharini is the second manifestation of Goddess Durga, worshipped on the second day of Navaratri. The word “Brahm” here refers to “Tapas,” so Brahmacharini means one who practices tapas (austerity or spiritual discipline). In the Vedas, it is mentioned that “Tatva” and “Tapa” are synonyms of “Brahm.”
The form of Brahmacharini is particularly radiant and majestic. She holds a mala (prayer beads) in her right hand and a kamandalu (water pot) in her left. She embodies love and devotion and is the guardian of knowledge and wisdom. Rudraksha is her favorite ornament.
Brahmacharini Durga has the ability to bestow infinite blessings. Through her worship, a person attains repentance, renunciation, detachment, ethical conduct, and self-control. Even during the most critical moments of struggle, such a person’s mind remains unwavering and does not stray from the chosen path. Through the grace of Mother Brahmacharini, this person is blessed with success and achievements everywhere and always.
On the second day of Navaratri, the aspect of Goddess Durga as Brahmacharini is worshipped. This helps to strengthen the aspirant’s mind and aligns it with the Svadhistana chakra. A yogi whose mind remains fixed on this chakra becomes a recipient of the Goddess's blessings and devotion.

She is the most fearsome form of Durga, granting her devotees clarity, peace, and radiance, while destroying any internal and external difficulties.
It is believed that she rewards people with her grace, courage, and bravery. Through her grace, all the sins, sufferings, physical pain, mental tribulations, and ghostly obstacles of her devotees are erased. She resides in the Manipura chakra.

The word "Kushmanda" consists of three parts: "Ku" (small), "Ushma" (energy heat), and "Anda" (egg). This refers to the creation of the universe as the "small cosmic egg" through her divine smile.
Kushmanda is known as the creator of the entire universe. It is believed that when the universe did not exist and there was only eternal darkness, it ended when Ma' Kushmanda smiled. Therefore, she is also called "Adi Shakti."

Goddess Skandamātā is the fifth incarnation of Devi Durga, worshipped on the fifth day of Navaratri. She is the mother of the war god Skanda (Kartikeya), who was chosen by the gods as their commander to fight against demons. As she sits on a lotus flower, she is also called Padmasani.
The goddess is depicted seated on a lion, with four arms and three eyes. She holds her son Skanda in one hand and a lotus flower in another, while her remaining hands grant blessings. Her golden radiance symbolizes divine brilliance.
On the fifth day of Navaratri, the minds of yogis and devotees focus on the Vishuddhi chakra, leading them deeper into meditation. Worshipping Skandamātā brings peace, fulfills desires, and opens the path to liberation. Her grace allows devotees to experience divine light and protection.

She has three eyes, four hands, golden skin, and rides a lion. She holds a weapon in one hand and a lotus in another, while the remaining hands are in blessing and protective gestures.
Worshiping Katyayani grants devotees Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. Yogis focus on the Agya chakra, and it is recommended to wear red and white clothing.

She has a complexion as dark as the night, four hands, lightning-emitting eyes, and a donkey as her vehicle. Worshiping her on the seventh day of Navaratri paves the way for higher spiritual attainments and removes all fears. It is recommended to wear blue, red, and white.

On the 8th day of Navaratri, Goddess Durga is worshipped in her Mahagauri form, symbolizing purity and radiance. She is fair-skinned, dressed in white, and represents the form of Parvati when she underwent penance to attain Lord Shiva as her consort.
Shiva bathed Parvati with the sacred waters of the Ganga, turning her brilliantly white, hence she is called Mahagauri. The Devi is usually depicted in white, riding a white bull. She has four hands: in her upper right hand, she holds a trident (trishul); in her upper left hand, a damaru (drum). Her lower right hand is in the Abhayamudra (protective) gesture. She wears a white sari with a golden border.
Worshipping Devi Mahagauri washes away all sins and grants immediate blessings.

On the 9th day of Navaratri, Devi Siddhidhatri is honoured. "Siddhi" means perfection.
Goddess Siddhidhatri has four hands, holding a chakra, a mace, a conch shell, and a lotus. She sits on a lotus, and her vehicle is a lion.
She grants devotees mystical powers and fulfils the 26 primary desires of human beings. The Puranas mention various siddhis (spiritual abilities) she bestows, including Anima, Mahima, Garima, and others.
According to legend, Lord Shiva worshipped Maha Shakti and attained all these siddhis, resulting in half of his body transforming into Shakti, earning him the name Ardhanarishvara. Siddhidhatri imparts divine knowledge, dispels ignorance, and helps devotees realize Brahman, the Supreme Being. She is always ready to assist her followers.
