HANS ZIMMER. Concert and Sound Journey with Pipe Organ and Gongs feat. Lasers, Light and Video Show
24th April / 19:00 / St Paul Church / Tartu
26th April / 19:00 / Kaarli Church / Tallinn
Gong masters will unite their instruments at Tartu Pauluse church to perform a cosmic symphony with the biggest South Estonia organ. In addition to the free flow of improvisations, music by Hans Zimmer from the film Interstellar will be heard
The visual dimension of the concert is based on sacral light dramaturgy — a live interpretation of music through light in real time. Light and lasers become an expressive artistic language, shaping the dramatic arc of sound and revealing the architectural and spiritual depth of the church space.
A unique and profound experience awaits you, helping you relax, immerse yourself, find peace and be filled with harmonious vibrations. This is a wonderful way to step out of your daily routine and enjoy the beauty of music and sound.
GONG is one of the oldest musical instruments used to open the mind. During a gong meditation, brain activity slows down and alpha and theta waves appear. We get in touch with our subconscious, where information comes in the form of symbols. In this altered state of consciousness, internal self-healing processes may be activated and the body can regenerate and rejuvenate itself. At the same time, new ideas and creative solutions can emerge.
In addition to gongs and organ, other rare instruments will be played to create a harmonious sound space: flat bells, singing bowls, ethnic flutes, wind chimes and ocean drums.
The sound space will be created by:
Tiia Tenno – St. John’s Church organist since 1996
Lilia Märtmaa and Denis Vinogradov – founders of the Center for Healing Sounds in Tallinn, multi-instrumentalists and sound therapists
Aleksandr Bachmann – Light and video artist
Archy Voinoff – Lasers and light
The concert lasts 1.5 hours without a break.
