Selma Visscher is a Dutch comedian. She studied at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp, and specialized in cabaret and musical comedy. She has played in numerous theaters throughout the Netherlands, with her comical and satirical stories and songs.

There comes a time in your life when you have to wait a while. It's best to sit down then. But then you will just see that they have not put cushions on the chair for you.' A performance about the gloom behind all our progressive happiness. Selma Visscher storms into the cabaret arena with a thorough indifference and socially undesirable songs. Because if you can still sing about it, then it's not too bad. Selma Visscher is an up-and-coming theater maker and cabaret artist. Her lyrics and songs testify to a great love for both language and music.

While studying cabaret at the Toneelschool in Antwerp, she found a way to bring language and music together in her own way. After her studies, she registered for the Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival, where she won the jury prize in 2016 with her performance 'Pieletje'. And in April 2018 she was in the finals of the Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival with her new performance 'What is there to win'. She is accompanied by her brother Lars Visscher, who masterfully masters both the piano and the accordion.

The theater newspaper wrote about her: The versatile Visscher combines a modest presence with brutal texts.
The jury of the GSCF compared her to Katinka Polderman and called her performance 'carefully constructed, intense and moving'. The jury of the AKF praised Selma for her 'poetic songs, subtle themes and daring concept'.
