GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON'T DIE Film Screening
Friday 20. March at 21:00 - 23:15
FOMO Secret Cinema, Tbilisi
Gore Verbinski | 2025 | USA/Germany | English language
After nearly a decade away from feature filmmaking, Gore Verbinski returns with GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON’T DIE, a frantic sci-fi adventure built around time travel, artificial intelligence, and a group of ordinary people suddenly told they are humanity’s last chance. Sam Rockwell plays a dishevelled man from the future who bursts into a Los Angeles diner insisting that the end of the world is coming and that the strangers around him must help stop it. The catch is that this is not his first attempt. He has been through countless failed versions already.
As the film spirals outward from that diner setup, Verbinski mixes paranoia, comedy, action and end-of-the-world dread into something closer to a live-wire puzzle than a conventional blockbuster. The cast includes Juno Temple, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña and Zazie Beetz, but it is Rockwell who gives the film its unstable energy, playing the role with exactly the right mixture of desperation, charm and exhaustion. Critics have compared the film’s shape and tone to everything from THE TERMINATOR to GROUNDHOG DAY, but its real appeal lies in the way Verbinski turns a high concept premise into something strange, messy and unpredictable.
The film premiered at Fantastic Fest in September 2025 before its wider release, marking Verbinski’s first feature since A CURE FOR WELLNESS. For audiences who enjoy ambitious science fiction with eccentric humour and a slightly deranged pulse, GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON’T DIE offers exactly that kind of ride.
