Four Duets | Συνθέσεις του Αλέξη Πορφυριάδη

To Oν Οff Studio Athens παρουσιάζει μία βραδιά με τέσσερις συνθέσεις του Αλέξη Πορφυριάδη  για ντουέτα, που δημιουργήθηκαν μεταξύ των ετών 1998 και 2021. Πιο συγκεκριμένα θα παρουσιαστούν οι συνθέσεις:

🔸Ο Αλέξης Πορφυριάδης είναι συνθέτης και πιανίστας/αυτοσχεδιαστής. Σπούδασε σύνθεση στην Αγγλία (PhD) και στην Αυστρία (MA, Postgraduate). Ανάμεσα στα βραβεία που του έχουν απονεμηθεί συγκαταλέγονται το Πρώτο Βραβείο στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Σύνθεσης Franco Evangelisti 2020 Ρώμη/Ιταλία (2020), το Τρίτο Βραβείο στο Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Σύνθεσης Molinari Quartet Competition Μόντρεαλ/Καναδάς (2004/05), το Βραβείο για την προώθηση της Μουσικής της πόλης του Graz/Αυστρία (2002) και η Ετήσια υποτροφία για τη Μουσική Σύνθεση της Αυστριακής Δημοκρατίας (2003-04). Συνθέσεις του έχουν παρουσιαστεί σε φεστιβάλ και μεμονωμένες συναυλίες στην Ευρώπη, τις Η.Π.Α, τον Καναδά και το Μεξικό. Διδάσκει αυτοσχεδιασμό, πειραματική μουσική και πειραματικές μουσικές παραστατικές πρακτικές για σύνολα στο Τμήμα Μουσικής Επιστήμης και Τέχνης του Πανεπιστημίου Μακεδονίας, θεωρητικά της μουσικής στο Δημοτικό Ωδείο Αμαρουσίου και Ιστορία Μουσικής στην Κρατική Σχολή Ορχηστικής Τέχνης (ΚΣΟΤ) και στην Ανώτερη Επαγγελματική Σχολή Χορού ΑΚΤΙΝΑ.

🔸Η Ιωάννα Βρακατσέλη είναι μεσόφωνος με BA στη Γαλλική Γλώσσα και Φιλολογία, MMus in Voice Studies (στις σύγχρονες τεχνικές της Sequenza III του Luciano Berio) και με εξειδίκευση στη φωνητική αποκατάσταση τραγουδιστών (Estill Voice Training, Complete vocal Technique, Alexander Technique κ.α). Είναι επίσης υποψήφια διδάκτωρ του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών με έρευνα στο φωνητικό έργο του François-Bernard Mâche. Με ευρύ φωνητικό φάσμα και εκφραστική ευελιξία, προσεγγίζει με την ίδια αφοσίωση το μπαρόκ και το ρομαντικό ρεπερτόριο, καθώς και τις απαιτητικές γραφές της σύγχρονης μουσικής. Έχει εμφανιστεί σε σημαντικούς ελληνικούς πολιτιστικούς χώρους (Εναλλακτική Σκηνή ΕΛΣ, Παλλάς, Ολύμπια) και συμμετέχει τακτικά σε φεστιβάλ και συνέδρια στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Έχει πραγματοποιήσει πρώτες παρουσιάσεις έργων των Tom Smail και N. Γαλενιανού μεταξύ άλλων, και ελληνικές πρώτες εκτελέσεις έργων των Aperghis, Mâche, Berio, καθώς και νέων συνθέσεων γραμμένων ειδικά για τη φωνή της, συμβάλλοντας ενεργά στην ανάδειξη του σύγχρονου φωνητικού ρεπερτορίου.

🔸Η Άννα Μουζάκη σπούδασε κλασικό τραγούδι στο Eλληνικό Ωδείο (τάξη: X.Kαρακατσούλη), μελέτησε ρεπερτόριο με τους M.Kορομάντζου, Φρ.Bουτσίνο και έκανε σεμινάρια με τους Α.Κοντογεωργίου, Α.Χριστοφέλλη, Δ.Καβράκο. Διατέλεσε επί 12 χρόνια μέλος της Xορωδίας της Eλληνικής Pαδιοφωνίας με διευθυντή τον Aντ. Kοντογεωργίου, λαμβάνοντας μέρος σε συναυλίες κλασικού και σύγχρονου ρεπερτορίου τόσο στην Ευρώπη, όσο και στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες της Αμερικής. Έλαβε μέρος σε παραγωγές τού Mεγάρου Mουσικής Aθηνών, σε παραστάσεις όπερας ελληνικού και ξένου ρεπερτορίου. Σπούδασε επίσης ανώτερα θεωρητικά (δίπλωμα σύνθεσης Γ.Aυγερινός). Παρακολούθησε μαθήματα σύνθεσης με τον Θεόδωρο Αντωνίου, Music for Media – Film Scoring (Α.Μούζας), Sound & Sound Synthesis, Sound Spatialisation & Localisation Strategies (Μ.Κουτσομιχάλης), Musical Rhetoric (Γ.Κουβαράς, Ειρ.Τζανετουλάκου), Composing with Systems (Α. Δενιόζος), εργαστήρια σύνθεσης σύγχρονης μουσικής (Φ.Κοσώνα), σύνθεσης πειραματικής μουσικής και αυτοσχεδιασμού (Α.Πορφυριάδης). Είναι μέλος του WHI Ensemble από το 2025.

🔸Η Ηρώ Μενέγου γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Δραστηριοποιείται ως ερμηνεύτρια και επιμελήτρια πρωτότυπων παραγωγών στο χώρο της σύγχρονης μουσικής και του μουσικού θεάτρου ενώ συνεργάζεται με νέους συνθέτες από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος των Pythia Trio & Metheξis Ensemble (σύγχρονη μουσική), Εnumerations (ομάδα μουσικού θεάτρου) και των Bouche Fermée (κινηματογραφική μουσική). Έχει εργαστεί ως music curator και project manager σε διάφορα φεστιβάλ (Γέφυρες - Στέγη Ωνάση, Cyprus New Music Festival, Taratsa IFF, Μονής Πάου, Music Diaries, Συνθέρμεια κ.α), ενώ το 2018 διοργάνωσε το Φεστιβάλ Σύγχρονης Μουσικής "Women Composing in the Balkans" (ΜΟΜus, Θεσσαλονίκη), το οποίο προτάθηκε για το Βραβείο Καινοτομίας στη διεθνή μουσική έκθεση Classical:NEXT 2019. Το 2023 οραματίστηκε το Τoyful Μusic Festival το οποίο πραγματοποιείται στην Κύπρο.

🔸Η Λυδία Λινάρδου είναι πιανίστα και μουσικοπαιδαγωγός. Εξειδικεύεται στο σύγχρονο ρεπερτόριο του πιάνου (20ος και 21ος αιώνας) ενώ τα τελευταία χρόνια ασχολείται με
την έρευνα νέων διδακτικών μεθόδων για την μουσική εκπαίδευση πολυπολιτισμικών και ευπαθών πληθυσμών. Είναι απόφοιτη του Τμήματος Μουσικών Σπουδών του ΕΚΠΑ. Το 2018 απέκτησε το Δίπλωμα Πιάνου. Επίσης, έχει ολοκληρώσει τις σπουδές της στα Ανώτερα Θεωρητικά (πτυχίο Φυγής). Παράλληλα, σπούδασε πιάνο στην Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris όπου απέκτησε το Πτυχίο Ερμηνείας «Brevet d' Execution».To 2021 ολοκλήρωσε στο Conservatorium του Μάαστριχτ (Ολλανδία) τις μεταπτυχιακές της σπουδές στη μουσική εκπαίδευση και το πιάνο. Σήμερα, εργάζεται ως μουσικός παιδαγωγός και δασκάλα πιάνου σε ιδιωτικά σχολεία και στο Πολιτιστικό κέντρο του Δήμου Ελευσίνας. Έχει παρακολουθήσει ποικίλα σεμινάρια πιάνου, σύγχρονης μουσικής και μουσικής δωματίου στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό με διεθνούς φήμης πιανίστες όπως οι Λορέντα Ράμου, Δόμνα Ευνουχίδου,Κáρολος Ζουγανέλης, Διονύσης Μαλλούχος, Sebastian Colombo, Katia Veekmans, Katia Lebedeva, Yoop Celis, Vladimir Viardo, David Lively, Balazs Scokolay, Klara Wurtz κ.α. Έχει εμφανιστεί ως σολίστ αλλά και ως μέλος σε σύνολα μουσικής δωματίου, σε συναυλίες κλασικής και σύγχρονης μουσικής στην Ελλάδα και την Ολλανδία.

🔸Ο Οδυσσέας Γκάλλιος είναι τελειόφοιτος του Τμήματος Μουσικών Σπουδών της Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών του Α.Π.Θ. και έχει πτυχία αρμονίας, αντίστιξης, ωδικής και φυγής. Έχει ολοκληρώσει επιτυχώς σεμινάριο με τον Κορνήλιο Σελαμσή. Η επαγγελματική του πορεία συνδυάζει τη σύνθεση, τον ηχητικό σχεδιασμό και τη συμμετοχή σε μουσικά σύνολα πειραματικής μουσικής. Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος της ομάδας αυτοσχεδιασμού και performance 6daEXIt, ενώ από το 2019 είναι μέλος της ομάδας αυτοσχεδιασμού WHI ensemble. Ως συνθέτης ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής, έχει συμμετάσχει στο φεστιβάλ Music in Motion (2015, Αθήνα) ενώ έχει συνεργαστεί, μεταξύ άλλων, με τις Νάντια Δαλκυριάδου, Ελένη Δημοπούλου και Ελένη Ευθυμίου. Έχει εργαστεί σε παραγωγές του Εθνικού Θεάτρου, του ΚΘΒΕ, της Στέγης Γραμμάτων και Τεχνών καθώς και σε ταινίες μικρού μήκους και στη διαφήμιση.

🔸Ο Ορφέας Καρανάσιος σπούδασε Ηλεκτρονικά στην ΑΣΠΑΙΤΕ. Ασχολείται με τον ελεγχόμενο και ελεύθερο αυτοσχεδιασμό και την κατασκευή πεταλιών. Υπήρξε μέλος του Whi Ensemble.

🔸Η Μαρίλια Γράντζα είναι απόφοιτη της Κρατικής Σχολής Ορχηστικής Τέχνης ενώ παράλληλα σπούδασε στην Νομική Σχολή Θεσσαλονίκης. Έχει συνεργαστεί με χορογράφους όπως ο Αντώνης Φωνιαδάκης, η Πατρίσια Απέργη, ο Tú Hoang, η Αθανασία Κανελλοπούλου, η Εύα Γεωργιτσοπούλου και ο Alan Lucien Øyen, ενώ έχει χορέψει σε φεστιβάλ όπως το Kalamata Dance Festival, Athens City Festival. Παράλληλα, ασχολείται με τη χορογραφία, μέσα από έργα που ερευνούν τη σύνδεση μεταξύ μουσικής/μουσικών οργάνων και κίνησης.

🔸Ο Αυγουστίνος M.S. είναι ένας συνθέτης και performer που άρχισε να ακολουθεί τον δρόμο της μουσικής από νεαρή ηλικία με βάση την κιθάρα, ενώ μέσα από τη συναναστροφή και διάδραση με συμπαίκτες, δασκάλους και φίλους ανέπτυξε την μουσικότητά του γύρω από αυτοσχεδιασμό και την ικανότητα προσαρμογής σε πολυποίκιλες μουσικές, και μη, συνθήκες. Το καλλιτεχνικό του ταξίδι έφερε στα χέρια του το ηλεκτρικό μπάσο και το κοντραμπάσο, με τα οποία δραστηριοποιείται κατά βάση στις Αθηναϊκές σκηνές. Ακόμη είχε την τύχη να έρθει σε επαφή με τον χορό και άλλες τέχνες, που αποτέλεσαν τη βάση για τη συνεργασία με άτομα του ευρύτερου καλλιτεχνικού χώρου και τη δημιουργία έργων που συνδυάζουν performance με ζωντανή μουσική

Four Duets | Compositions by Alexis Porfyriadis

On Off Studio Athens presents an evening featuring four compositions by Alexis Porfyriadis for duets, created between 1998 and 2021. Specifically, the following compositions will be presented:

🔸Alexis Porfyriadis is a composer and pianist/improviser. He studied composition in England (PhD) and Austria (MA, Postgraduate). Among the awards he has received are the First Prize in the Franco Evangelisti International Composition Competition 2020 in Rome/Italy (2020), Third Prize in the Molinari Quartet International Composition Competition in Montreal/Canada (2004/05), the Award for the Promotion of Music of the City of Graz/Austria (2002), and the Annual Scholarship for Music Composition of the Austrian Republic (2003-04). His compositions have been presented at festivals and individual concerts in Europe, the USA, Canada, and Mexico. He teaches improvisation, experimental music, and experimental musical performance practices for ensembles at the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia, music theory at the Municipal Conservatory of Maroussi, and Music History at the State School of Orchestral Art (KSOT) and the AKTION Higher Vocational Dance School.
🔸Ioanna Vrakatseli is a mezzo-soprano with a BA in French Language and Literature, an MMus in Voice Studies (on the contemporary techniques of Luciano Berio's Sequenza III), and specialization in vocal rehabilitation for singers (Estill Voice Training, Complete Vocal Technique, Alexander Technique, etc.). She is also a PhD candidate at the University of Athens, researching the vocal work of François-Bernard Mâche. With a broad vocal range and expressive flexibility, she approaches Baroque and Romantic repertoire, as well as the demanding scores of contemporary music, with equal dedication. She has appeared in significant Greek cultural venues (Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera, Pallas, Olympia) and regularly participates in festivals and conferences in Greece and abroad. She has premiered works by Tom Smail and N. Galenianos, among others, and given Greek first performances of works by Aperghis, Mâche, Berio, as well as new compositions written specifically for her voice, actively contributing to the promotion of the contemporary vocal repertoire.
🔸Anna Mouzaki studied classical singing at the Hellenic Conservatory (class: Ch. Karakatsouli), studied repertoire with M. Koromantzou, Fr. Voutsino, and attended seminars with A. Kontogeorgiou, A. Christofellis, D. Kavrakos. For 12 years she was a member of the Greek Radio Choir, conducted by Ant. Kontogeorgiou, taking part in concerts of classical and contemporary repertoire in both Europe and the United States of America. She participated in productions at the Athens Concert Hall, in opera performances of Greek and foreign repertoire. She also studied advanced music theory (diploma in Fugue). She attended composition lessons with Theodoros Antoniou, Music for Media – Film Scoring (A. Mouzas), Sound & Sound Synthesis, Sound Spatialisation & Localisation Strategies (M. Koutsomichalis), Musical Rhetoric (G. Kouvaras, Ir. Tzanetoulakou), Composing with Systems (A. Deniozos), workshops on contemporary music composition (F. Kosona), experimental music composition, and improvisation (A. Porfyriadis). She is a member of the WHI Ensemble since 2025.
🔸Iro Menegou was born and raised in Thessaloniki. She is active as a performer and curator of original productions in the field of contemporary music and musical theatre, collaborating with young composers from Greece and abroad. She is a founding member of Pythia Trio & Methexis Ensemble (contemporary music), Enumerations (musical theatre group), and Bouche Fermée (film music). She has worked as a music curator and project manager in various festivals (Gefyres - Onassis Stegi, Cyprus New Music Festival, Taratsa IFF, Moni Paou, Music Diaries, Synthermeia, etc.), and in 2018 she organized the Contemporary Music Festival "Women Composing in the Balkans" (MOMus, Thessaloniki), which was nominated for the Innovation Award at the international music fair Classical:NEXT 2019. In 2023 she envisioned the Toyful Music Festival, which takes place in Cyprus.
🔸Lydia Linardou is a pianist and music pedagogue. She specializes in the contemporary piano repertoire (20th and 21st centuries), while in recent years she has been involved in researching new teaching methods for the music education of multicultural and vulnerable populations. She is a graduate of the Department of Music Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA). In 2018, she obtained her Piano Diploma. She has also completed her studies in Advanced Music Theory (Fugue degree). Concurrently, she studied piano at the École Normale de Musique de Paris, where she obtained the Performance Degree "Brevet d' Execution." In 2021, she completed her postgraduate studies in music education and piano at the Conservatorium van Maastricht (Netherlands). Today, she works as a music pedagogue and piano teacher in private schools and at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Elefsina. She has attended various seminars on piano, contemporary music, and chamber music in Greece and abroad with internationally renowned pianists such as Lorenda Ramou, Domna Evnouhidou, Karolos Zouganelis, Dionysis Mallouhos, Sebastian Colombo, Katia Veekmans, Katia Lebedeva, Yoop Celis, Vladimir Viardo, David Lively, Balazs Scokolay, Klara Wurtz, etc. She has appeared as a soloist and as a member of chamber music ensembles in classical and contemporary music concerts in Greece and the Netherlands.
🔸Odysseas Gallios is a final-year student at the Department of Music Studies of the School of Fine Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds degrees in Harmony, Counterpoint, Solfège, and Fugue. He has successfully completed a seminar with Kornilios Selamsis. His professional career combines composition, sound design, and participation in experimental music ensembles. He is a founding member of the improvisation and performance group 6daEXIt, and since 2019 has been a member of the improvisation group WHI ensemble. As an electronic music composer, he participated in the Music in Motion festival (2015, Athens) and has collaborated with Nadia Dalkyriadou, Eleni Dimopoulou, and Eleni Efthimiou, among others. He has worked on productions for the National Theatre, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the Onassis Stegi, as well as short films and advertising.
🔸Orfeas Karanasios studied Electronics at ASPAITE (School of Pedagogical and Technological Education). He is involved in controlled and free improvisation and the construction of guitar pedals. He was a member of the Whi Ensemble.
🔸Marilia Grantza is a graduate of the State School of Orchestral Art, while also studying at the Law School of Thessaloniki. She has collaborated with choreographers such as Antonis Foniadakis, Patricia Apergi, Tú Hoang, Athanasia Kanellopoulou, Eva Georgitsopoulou, and Alan Lucien Øyen, and has danced at festivals such as the Kalamata Dance Festival and the Athens City Festival. She is also involved in choreography, through works that explore the connection between music/musical instruments and movement.
🔸Avgoustinos M.S. is a composer and performer who began his musical journey at a young age, centered around the guitar. Through interaction and collaboration with bandmates, teachers, and friends, he developed his musicality around improvisation and the ability to adapt to diverse musical, and non-musical, situations. His artistic journey led him to the electric bass and the double bass, instruments with which he is mainly active on the Athenian stages. He has also had the opportunity to engage with dance and other arts, which formed the basis for collaborations with individuals from the wider artistic community and the creation of works that combine performance with live music.
