On 16 November, the Museum of Photography will host a lively carnival evening of photographic mystery and colourful light, dedicated to nature in the theme year of nature photography.
What to wear?🦉🐻🐣🐞🍄
In addition to the various mythical creatures, all the birds are kindly invited to attend, from birds of prey to cranes, insects from bees to beetles, animals from hedgehogs to bears, plants from spruces to honeysuckles, fish from gills to tails, lizards, mushrooms, mosses, spiders and lichens.
You can complete your nature costume with face painting on the spot. You are welcome to join the party from 18:30.
The best costume will win a special prize!
What to expect?
◾ Cyanotype workshop (In Estonian and English)
The world's first photobook, published in 1843, was dedicated to algae and was made using the cyanotype photographic process. In this workshop, you will be able to try your hand at this very old way of making photographs and make phototype-style images.

◾ Tour of the exhibition "Eesti Loodus Magazine Archives" (In Estonian)
On the three floors of the museum, you can see an exhibition of nature photographs dedicated to the rich photo archive of Eesti Loodus magazine and the magazine's long history of publication. Merilis Roosalu, the curator, will give a guided tour of the exhibition.

◾ Performance "Nature photographer" (In Estonian)
A collective of skilful hands from the Museum of Photography presents a funny short story in the form of shadow theatre about a small concern of forest dwellers about nature photographers. Duration: 7 minutes. Begins at 19.30
◾ Nature songs disco.
Throughout the evening, nature-inspired dance songs will be performed in the Photography Museum's Photographers' Hall, through the music of recent history. To the delight of all bears and lions, this evening will play upbeat and beautiful stories of sun and moon, sea and island, rain and storm, river and mountain, from Estonia and beyond....
