Friday 7. June at 22:00 - Saturday 8. June
Fotografiska Tallinn • Telliskivi 60a-8, 10412 Tallinn, Harju, Estonia
Fotografiska has always pushed boundaries, and that's why we like it when exhibition openings are not always the same. On June 7, we will celebrate Fotografiska's 5th birthday and kick off the summer with a grand birthday party, opening the doors to the major summer exhibition "In Bloom." This enchanting and incredibly rich exhibition brings to Fotografiska the interpretations of nature's relationship with humans by 17 contemporary artists, combining photography and video art, installations, and sculpture.
On the night of June 7, we will bring the birthday party right into the heart of the art – the dim exhibition floors will fill with a Berlin-like exciting party vibe, and the exhibition opening will become a unique, multi-layered experience that doesn't require an art education to enjoy. Accompanied by wild party beats, we will heat up the halls until the early morning hours with performances by Mutant Disco and Haigla, as well as live sets by Röövel Ööbik and Vana.
RÖÖVEL ÖÖBIK live
VANA live

🗓️ Tickets in May 20 €, in June 25 €, on 7th of June 30 €
Mutant Disco is significantly older than Fotografiska – the party series, born in 1997, has established itself as a cult cultural event, remaining an unwavering heavyweight in the party scene under the leadership of Siim Nestor, Rhythm Doctor, and Raul Saaremets.
The Haigla party is also older than Fotografiska – the guys who once drove people crazy with wild skate parties in the same building promise to offer legendary experiences again, bringing music beats grown from independent street culture directly into the midst of photographic art.
Röövel Ööbik, an indie rock collective from the boundary of the past and present, is already familiar to many. These veteran musicians will let nostalgic notes and fresh sounds resonate at Fotografiska – the band has just released their sixth album after a 15-year hiatus.
What is, who is Vana? The musical group with the oldest name probably needs the most introduction, but in their short time together, they have already created quite a buzz among a select circle. The singing voice of Edith Karlson, an artist who represented Estonia at the Venice Biennale, travels on cosmic sound waves and gallops through western dreams, while Raul Saaremets works and performs in the background.
By the way, have you ever wondered what’s hidden in the back rooms of Fotografiska? Is there perhaps a secret bar, an archive of Andy Warhol photos, or perhaps Peeter Pihel’s favorite recipe kept there? On the birthday night, we will briefly open the curtains and let you explore secret paths, inviting you to experience the Fotografiska building from new, yet undiscovered angles.
Fotografiska's birthday and the exhibition "In Bloom" will envelop the building in a captivating floral beauty and, for just one weekend, into truly lush party attire. Come, let's celebrate together!
