Hailing from Colombia, Filmmaker began his sonic odyssey in the Medellín electronic music scene in 2018. Today, a globally influential artist, he feels equally at home in an underground dungeon as he does in a neon-lit discotheque. He has carved out a niche with his alienated yet magnetic ethos and is able to create his work both through analog equipment and by manipulating the digital ether. His skill allows him to draw music equally from noise, industrial sounds, and the dance floor.
Filmmaker’s discography represents the pinnacle of relentless exploration and innovation. From the hit “The Love Market” on Detriti Records to the avant-garde “Vlad Tapes” on Tartarus Records, his work demonstrates a harmony of raw and refined music. The recently released “Diffractions” is built on synthesizers and hypnotic rhythms. As with much of his extensive discography, this work is simultaneously dynamic and minimalist: no note is accidental. All releases showcase his ability to move through uncharted sonic spaces and transcend boundaries, while sounding hauntingly familiar.
Filmmaker brings his unique presence to prestigious venues such as Berlin’s Urban Spree and the Roadburn Fest stage. Each performance is an odyssey in itself, offering a unique mix of unreleased tracks and remixes and guaranteeing an unparalleled experience. His journey is more than a career; it is a manifesto of music’s transformative power - a medium that moves bodies and souls, shaping darkness into countless forms and resonances through the alchemy of sound.
