For one night only, the mischievous Taiwanese comic Kuan-wen is back with a new English comedy special. Kuan-wen has previously performed in London, Berlin, Barcelona, Vienna, Zurich, Geneva, Amsterdam, Brussels, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Luxembourg, Hamburg, Budapest, Bucharest, Basel, Lisbon, Paris and his native Taipei. He has performed multiple times at Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as Prague Fringe, Sziget Festival, Kilkenny Cat's Laugh Festival in Ireland and Lund Comedy Festival in Sweden.
Hailing from Asia but having lived in Europe for over two decades, Kuan-wen's jokes are packed with cross-cultural hilarity.
And what about this specific comedy special?
Well, have you ever noticed those men around you who are called Andrew.... all seem to be a bit of a c * * t? This new show is to confirm your suspicion. That's right! All Andrews are C**TS! E.V.E.R.Y S.I.N.G.L.E one of them.
This hilarious English comedy special starts with a rant about various celebrity Andrews until Kuan-wen turns his attention to two of his ex-boyfriends - or "two pieces of human garbage" in his words - and mercilessly shreds their reputations into pieces. Have you ever dated any shitty people? If so, the show is for you.
Described as “...one of the sharpest Asian comedians working today” for his latest show (One4Review), Kuan-wen mercilessly dissects his past relationships and exposes some tragically flawed characters in this over-sharing and *unhinged hour.
Nominee, Channel 4 Sean Lock Comedy Award 2023
Nominee, Best Show, Leicester Comedy Festival 2023
*This show is not for the prudes
"Huang’s dissection of these relationships is as sharp as it is playful, painting miniature portraits of love gone sour without ever tipping into self-pity. His crowd work is instinctive and unforced — he pulls people into the narrative without derailing it, like a conductor cueing an orchestra. Even his rants feel inclusive, more like letting us in on a delicious bit of gossip than venting personal grievances." – One4Review
"Huang has a frequently gasp-inducing tendency to lurch abruptly into the most graphic of topics, from logistically-complex gay orgies to guessing the sexual proclivities of a youthful front-rower's parents" – Fest Mag
Door opens at 7:30pm. Show starts at 8:00pm.
