Rene Paul has the hands of a blues master, the soul of a comedian, and the anxieties of a man who has seen too many targeted ads. A two-time ‘Estonian Blues Band of the Year’ winner, he now wields a keytar alongside his piano, blending masterful musicianship with brutally funny songs about the absurdity of modern life. He honed this comedic voice on the international stage, touring European Fringe festivals from Berlin to New York with the acclaimed vaudeville group Kaisa Ling Thing before launching his solo act. As one of the leaders of the Estonian cabaret scene, he knows exactly how to make audiences laugh and feel uncomfortable simultaneously.
Have you ever seen in movies how everyone in a piano bar sings along at the top of their lungs and the party is in full swing? Rene Paul brings you exactly that kind of genuine and unrestrained New York piano bar atmosphere. This isn’t a refined and reserved concert, but an evening where everyone is part of the performance.
How does it work? Grab a napkin, write down your favorite song—be it by Queen, Sinatra, Dua Lipa, or even “Despacito”—and give it to the pianist. Rene will heat things up on the piano and sing, and soon you’ll find yourself singing along too, even if you’re not always confident in your ability to hold a tune. That doesn’t matter here! The most important thing is the shared energy, laughter, and music that is created right here and now.
On November 20, Rene Paul's Piano Bar opens its doors in Veino at Rataskaevu 6, and you can expect an evening full of music, good wine & the best company!
