Do you know how text was composed during the 20th century? Before the digital keyboard, texts were composed either by hand or with casting machines. On August 30th we invite you to TYPA for a hands-on introduction to the Monotype casting machine!
During the demo participants can try out the Monotype keyboard with their own hands. We will also show the matrixes that belong inside the Monotype machine that originate from 1963 and were used during the Soviet era at Tartu Vallikraavi Printhouse.
Demo takes place at 13.00 in Estonian and 14.00 in English.
Demo is suitable for people aged 12 and up and lasts ca 45min.
The ticket is 5€. Tickets are limited!
