For the November edition of Folk Metal Saturday, The Krypt welcomes two bands from the Baltic scene: Varang Nord, making their Tallinn stop as part of their Voices of Freedom Tour, and Estonia’s Runaoja.

⚰️ VARANG NORD

Formed in Daugavpils in 2014, Varang Nord combine folk melodies, accordion and death metal, with the Latgalian language and Latvian and Latgalian history at the heart of their music.
They won the Wacken Metal Battle 2019, and performed in festivals like Wacken Open Air, Kilkim Žaibu and Full Metal Holiday, plus many more club shows around Europe.

Their latest album, Mygla, was released in 2025 and received the Latvian Metal Music Award for Best Album of the Year. The band was also nominated for a GAMMA Award for Metal Music Artist of the Year.

⚰️ RUNAOJA

Tallinn’s own Runaoja combine folk metal with storytelling, creating music that puts atmosphere, emotion and narrative at the centre. Their songs move between heavier passages and more immersive moments, while their live performances bring a passionate and engaging presence to the stage.

Runaoja are no strangers to The Krypt, having played here several times before and consistently receiving a strong response from the audience. They return to the venue for another evening of folk metal, this time alongside Varang Nord.

👻 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑲𝒓𝒚𝒑𝒕 - 𝑺𝒑𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒚 𝑩𝒂𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆 is an independent venue located in Tallinn city center, and the only spooky-themed bar in the Baltics.
The Krypt has hosted hundreds of events with both local and international bands, vintage horror movie nights, mystical dance shows, flea markets, an extreme metal festival, and much more is planned for the future.
The national radio station Rock FM awarded The Krypt/Sügis Productions the 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, recognizing their significant contribution to promoting rock and metal music in Estonia. Recently, the co-owner also got the nomination of "𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫" at the European WILM Awards.

The Krypt offers a unique nightlife experience where dark aesthetics meet live music — a place for those looking for something beyond the ordinary.
