Hone the craft like the Old Masters! Join our small workgroup for a focused session of working from the live model, with an emphasis on long poses — typically three hours — that give you the time and space to look deeply, build your image with care, and push past first impressions. Whether you’re drawing or painting, instruction is personal and adapted to your individual needs and goals, wherever you are in your practice. Recommended supplies lists for both drawing and painting are attached below. All experience levels welcome.

About the instructor

Kaspar Tamsalu teaches classical painting and drawing in the tradition of the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, where he trained in rigorous easel painting. He previously led the Painting Department at Pallas University of Applied Sciences, and works professionally as an Art Director and visual artist in the video game industry. His studio practice combines academic technique with contemporary sensibility, working in small groups with individual coaching that emphasizes close observation, technical fluency, and the development of each student’s individual voice.

Juhendajast
