STREET: Indie Film Premiere & Fundraiser

Tuesday 2. June at 19:00 - 23:00

FOMO Secret Cinema, Tbilisi

STREET

Kyle Faulkner | 2022 | Australia | 2h40m + 10minute intermissions | Presented in the original English audio without English subtitles.

"ABOUT STREET": This is an Aussie indie film addressing true crime not just as subject matter, but as an industry. The film follows an obsessive young man cast in the role of a killer in an upcoming true crime film, who befriends a surviving family member of the real-life events. What begins for him as research soon becomes something more ethically questionable. The film raises important questions about performance, exploitation and the way real trauma today is repackaged for an eager audience.

The film is dark and heavy at points, as it should be. True crime is often sold as entertainment, but STREET asks what happens when the process of making that content starts to repeat the same harm it claims to examine.

FUNDRAISER: At FOMO, we understand films don’t just appear fully formed on festival screens. They’re written in fragments, financed in pieces, argued into shape, and only finished when enough people decide to put their money where their mouth is. STREET is a chance to support that process directly.

FOMO Independent Cinema is run by two Australian expats, so this one has a personal angle for us. We’re always interested in how indie directors keep working outside the usual systems, and this Georgian Film Premiere is a small way we can help Kyle’s new unfinished feature move through post-production and find it's audience.

ABOUT "SOMETHING": Kyle's latest project has just completed shooting and is currently in post-production. Shot across Georgia, it’s an ambitious new feature with a serious international scale. Guests at this fundraiser will also be treated to an early preview screening of the trailer for SOMETHING.

All ticket sale proceeds go to Kyle Faulkner.
