Vivita / Lahenduste Laboratoorium invite grownups to Sashiko - Japanese traditional embroidery workshop
Sashiko (刺し子) is a traditional Japanese embroidery and mending technique characterized by simple stitches and geometric patterns. In the past, this technique was used not only for decorative purposes but also for practical ones, such as making clothes warmer and stronger or repairing them to make them last longer.
Hikari will share the basics of Sashiko and you can try it out on a small piece of fabric coaster and take it home.
Or it's also possible to try Sashiko technique on your favorite fabric, repair your own damaged items with Sashiko.
Let's have a meditative and creative handwork time together! 🍵🧵🪡
