LaughPlug Comedy is bringing a fresh Stand Up Comedy Show at Vessel 11, the beautiful red boat in Wijnhaven.

Our headliner for this edition will be Hermes Ahmadi.
Originally born to Afghan parents and raised partly in Afghanistan before fleeing war as a child, Ahmadi grew up in the Netherlands from around age ten. His comedy often draws on his journey from Afghanistan to Dutch society, cultural quirks, language absurdities, and broader reflections on identity, integration, and human behavior.
He began performing cabaret in 2018, quickly earning recognition at festivals such as the Leeuwarder Cabaret Festival and Puck’s Cabaret Talent. His first full-length show, U bevindt zich hier (“You Are Here”), debuted in theaters in 2023 and explores themes of war, migration, cultural contrast, and what life and belonging truly mean.
In 2024, Ahmadi reached the finale of the prestigious Cameretten Festival, one of the Netherlands’ top platforms for emerging comedic talent, and toured nationally with the other finalists.
His style mixes narrative storytelling with sharp, unexpected jokes and characters, touching on subjects including cultural integration, climate change, travel, language, and everyday absurdities.
