Lead Coach

Carl Finney is one of the most accomplished figures in British judo, with over 45 years of dedication to the sport. Competing at the highest level throughout his career, Carl achieved outstanding success by winning Commonwealth Games gold medals in 1986 Commonwealth Games and 1990 Commonwealth Games.

Today, Carl continues to make a significant impact within the sport as a highly respected elite-level coach. Still actively involved at the highest level of judo, he travels extensively across the globe, sharing his expertise and helping develop athletes on the international stage.

We also are hosting a Level 1 competition for this age group on Saturday 23rd May 2026 . Compete Like a Samurai
