Rahvusvaheline improteatrite festival Tilt esitleb:

"Tundmatu kartus"
Inspireerituna 19. sajandi õuduslugude autori Edgar Allan Poe lühijuttudest uurib formaat "Tundmatu kartus" hirme, mida me päriselt endaga kaasas kanname. Kasutades kõrgendatud kõnemaneeri, koori ja muid teatraalseid vahendeid viivad lavaolijad teid Poe lühijuttude maailma ja põimivad teie ette judinaid tekitava loo.
Formaat "Tundmatu kartus" loodi esmalt Rapid Fire Theatre'is Edmontonis ning hiljem on seda taaslavastatud rahvusvahelisel improteatrite festivalil Improvention Canberras, Austraalias.
Etenduse toovad teieni eesti improtajad, kes on õppinud formaadi Amy Shostaki töötoas.

"RÅ POWER"
Järsem. Karmim. Brutaalselt spontaanne. Etenduses Rå Power astuvad üles kaks Rapid Fire Theatre'i kauaaegset näitlejat Joleen Ballendine ja Amy Shostak.

NB! Kogu etendus toimub inglise keeles

International improv festival Tilt presents:

18th of May brings to Estonia Amy Shostak and Joleen Ballendine from Canada who will present us a format they will share with local improvisers and their own duo-show Rå Power!

Amy and Joleen began their improv journey in The Rapid Fire Theatre in Edmonton and now they are experienced improvisers who have been performing and teaching on this and the other side of the Atlantic ocean (read more about them below). Now it's their first time to visit Estonia and besides the show, they will also conduct two workshops.

The improv evening consists of two parts.
"FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN"
Inspired by the short stories of 19th century gothic horror writer, Edgar Allan Poe, Fear of The Unknown aims to honour and explore real-life fears that we as humans hold. Using heightened language, choral speech, and theatrical staging, the ensemble will take inspiration from Poe's short stories, and weave for you a bone-chilling take.
Fear of The Unknown was originally produced at Rapid Fire Theatre in Edmonton, and later at Improvention in Canberra, Australia.
The performance will be brought to you by Estonian improvisers who have learned the format in Amy Shostak's workshop.

"RÅ POWER"
Rougher. Tougher. Brutally spontaneous. In Rå Power, Joleen Ballendine and Amy Shostak, two of Rapid Fire Theatre's senior performers, are focused on chasing joy and doing things that scare them. They will explore a poetic image through scenes, songs, and whatever other ways they feel like.

NB! The whole performance will be in English.

Tickets from presale 10 euros, on spot 12 euros. Presale ends on the 17th of May.
In addition to regular tickets, you can book a table for up to four people. The table fee is 12,5 euros and this doesn't include entrance tickets.

JOLEEN BALLENDINE
Joleen has been improvising with Edmonton's Rapid Fire Theatre since 2007. She is the Associate Director of Education and is a senior player performing weekly in Theatresports, Maestro and CHiMPROV (Rapid Fire's long-form show). Some of her notable improv troupes include DotDotDot, Rå Power, and Z-Said. She is also the creator and lead instructor for the At-Risk-Youth Project, and recently started an improv program for kids called The Kidprovisors.
Teaching and performing has made a traveller of Joleen. She has been all over Canada, The US, and Europe. Recent trips include Toronto, Vancouver, Arizona, New York, Berlin, Würzburg, Munich, Vienna, Ljubljana, Zurich, and Oslo.
When Joleen is not improvising, she writes for, and stars in Edmonton’s award-winning sketch television program Caution: May Contain Nuts, which airs on APTN. Joleen draws inspiration from Rock n' Roll, dogs and high kicks, so watch out!

AMY SHOSTAK
Amy is an improviser and creator living in Vancouver, Canada. She started improvising with Edmonton’s Rapid Fire Theatre in 2002, and she served as the company's Artistic Director for six years. In 2015, she was honoured with an Excellence in Artistic Direction Award from the Mayor’s Celebration for the Arts in Edmonton. Amy now spends her time in Vancouver, teaching improvisation with Blind Tiger Comedy, and is the festival director of The Vancouver International Improv Festival. She is passionate about creating safe and healthy improv communities and has organized several dialogues and panels while in Vancouver. She is completing her certificate in Dialogue & Civic Engagement at Simon Fraser University.
Improv has taken Amy to many places. She is so pleased to have been able to perform at Monkeyfest in Bogota, Improvention in Canberra, The Lost in Translation Festival in Milan, The Sweden International Improv Festival, and The Wurzburger Impro Festival.
She loves heavy metal and nachos.
