Future Global Leaders Workshop: From Insight to Action
Laupäev, 18. aprill kell 09:30 - 19:00
Tallinna Ülikool
In collaboration with Civitas, the Future Global Leaders Workshop: From Insight to Action brings together an exceptional group of speakers for a high-level day designed for ambitious students, young professionals, and future leaders who want to build the competencies that matter most in serious careers.
If you have ever felt that no one has properly taught you how to lead with credibility, apply strategically, position yourself in competitive spaces, or communicate with real clarity and influence, this workshop is built for exactly that gap. Only 30 seats are available and most of them are taken - register now to guarantee your spot!
The day opens with Indrek Tarand, whose long career across diplomacy, public service, and European politics offers a rare perspective on what gives a public career real longevity. His session will set the tone by looking beyond surface-level visibility and towards the qualities that create staying power: judgment, adaptability, institutional understanding, and credibility.
From there, Dr. Sam Potolicchio, President of the Preparing Global Leaders Forum and Director of Leadership Programs at Georgetown University, will take participants into the demands of leadership in 2026. His workshop is aimed at those who want to move beyond ambition alone and better understand how serious leaders think, decide, communicate, and perform under pressure in an increasingly competitive world.
The programme then turns to one of the most practical and immediate career questions with Eeva Kauba, whose experience supporting ambitious applicants and international opportunities makes her ideally placed to tackle how people can excel at applications and make career choices with far greater intention. For anyone who has wondered why some people seem to navigate opportunities so effectively while others struggle to break through, this session will be especially valuable.
Later in the day, Oliver Mõru, Member of the Cabinet of the High Representative/Vice-President Kaja Kallas, will focus on how young professionals can move from simply being present in important spaces to genuinely shaping them. His workshop speaks directly to the realities of entering high-level professional and policy environments, building trust, developing presence, and learning how visibility becomes influence when paired with substance.
The day concludes with Maka Kevlishvili-Dettmer, an expert in political and strategic communication, who will bring participants into the world of narratives, messaging, and policy impact. Her session will explore how ideas are framed, how public understanding is shaped, and how communication can be turned into concrete recommendations that resonate with decision-makers.
Together, these workshops are strongly aimed at the exact issues people face when entering the workforce, building a career, or trying to shape one with more confidence and direction. They speak to the uncertainty, pressure, and ambition that often define the early and mid-stages of professional life, but they are just as relevant for anyone looking to sharpen their leadership, communication, and strategic thinking.
Throughout the programme, participants will also contribute to the Youth Security Plan, helping turn the day’s ideas into concrete proposals for decision-makers.
If you have ever felt that you were missing part of the toolkit, this is where to find it.
