Lana-May Hodge & her Hot Jazz Band - Clarinetist, vocalist, and occasional spoon player Lana-May is a fun alternative to a world that takes itself very seriously. Taking from a pool of inspiration as wide as Sidney Bechet to Led Zeppelin, but with repertoire rooted in traditional jazz, Lana and her band of fantastic musicians perform with one goal in mind - to have fun and to entertain their audiences. Lana can’t be put into a singular box musically and she isn’t authentic to the period, but she does have a completely unique sound and her band offer a fresh take on songs roughly a century old. Her audiences often say things like ‘I don’t like jazz, but I like what you just did’ and ‘I didn’t know the clarinet could sound like THAT’ - which should give you an idea of what to expect.
Joe Garland Quintet - Joe is a guitarist, composer, producer, engineer and editor based in London and is a junior fellow of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has performed as a leader and as a sideman across the UK, from the Liverpool Philharmonic and Guildford's Boileroom to the Royal Albert Hall, the Vortex and the 606 Club in London. His band the Joe Garland Quintet, features Guitar, Singer, drums, bass & trumpet and plays a repertoire of boisterous jazz-funk-fusion.
