Bog-shoe hike in Kõrvemaa (english group)
Friday 26. June at 19:00 - 23:00
RMK Järvi Pärnjärve telkimisala, Suru
Leave the city behind for a wild Friday night in the wilderness and discover one of Estonia’s most magical landscapes – with transport from Tallinn available to book.
The summer bog is filled with birdsong, the bog pools shimmer in the sunlight and Estonia’s famous white nights create a special atmosphere that lets you enjoy nature late into the evening. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also swim in the bog pools where the exceptionally pure, deep and cool water offers a refreshing and unforgettable experience.
Bog shoes help us move safely and comfortably across the wet bog, making the experience both fun and unique. They allow us to leave the boardwalk behind and explore quieter parts of the bog, away from the crowds.
The bog-shoe hike takes place in the Kõnnu Suursoo bog in the North-Kõrvemaa Nature Reserve, just a 1-hour drive from Tallinn. The surrounding landscape with its hills and valleys, is often called the “Swiss Alps of Estonia”, offering great views and a truly unique bog experience.
We start the hike near the RMK Järvi Pärnjärve campsite (exact starting point will be sent to participants). In the bog, we’ll move at a relaxed pace, giving you time to notice the beauty of the bog landscape, take photos and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Along the way, we’ll talk about the bog and its unique nature. At the watching tower, we’ll take a break, enjoy beautiful views of the entire bog and have a snack break with a homemade freshly baked surprise. From there, we return along the boardwalk to the starting point without bog-shoes.
Transportation from Tallinn/Rae parish can be booked for an extra fee of 10€ per person. If transportation is needed, please check availability with the organizer before purchasing a ticket. Please send a message in WhatsApp +372 5307 2169 (Kätlin).
