Laupäev 13. august kell 13:00 - Neljapäev 18. august kell 14:00

Salevere Salumäe Loovkoda e Matsalu Creative Space • Salevere Salumäe Loovkoda e Matsalu Creative Space, 90116 Salevere, Lääne maakond, Eesti

Come to the beautiful Matsalu National Park. A peaceful natural environment to relax deeply and look inwards. Five and a half days to rest both the mind and body through movement and meditation practices. To get to know oneself and the world around by becoming more familiar with one's own mind and body and by learning how to notice more.
The movement sessions offer traditional forms of QiGong that allow us to slow down, tune into the body, to relax, to release tensions, to heal, and to re-energise. We will be learning Lotus QiGong as a foundational practice to embody the key points of QiGong. We will also learn various QiGong stretches as well as movements to strengthen our muscles and energy. These practises aim to support and deepen awareness of our body and mind as we live and move through life.
The meditation sessions will give us a chance to familiarise ourselves with foundational meditation practises: training our attention, becoming more aware of what goes on in our minds, cultivating kindness to ourselves and others. We will also discuss why meditation is important and what it is really about. We will see how meditation practice can help us in everyday life and we will take time to practice so that we would have an idea how to meditate after we leave.
During the retreat silence will be the default mode. These few days is an environment to rest from all the chit chats and to really learn to notice oneself more. This is best done while letting oneself be silent. If you feel it will be more meaningful to talk in a mindful way and you have a willing partner, you are welcome to take a walk.

TEACHERS
Hsuan-Hsiu Hung has studied with a great QiGong master in Taiwan for over 15 years. The practice has accompanied her through different stages of life, through ups and downs, through being a student, dancer, teacher/facilitator, through working with herself and with others. For her, QiGong is a practice which relaxes, nourishes and strengthens the body, it is also a method to know oneself by becoming aware of one’s natural state of being and through that being in touch with one’s own potential.
In QiGong, Hsuan was deeply inspired by working with the subtle energies in the body. Through the practice, she began to dance and was fascinated by the wonders and richness of the movement practices QiGong unfolded. This led her to training professionally in Tel Aviv with Batsheva Dance Company, in New York at Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, and in London at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where she obtained a M.A. of Creative Practice in Dance.
In the last two years, she has lived in Estonia where she is currently offering traditional QiGong lessons as well as interdisciplinary contemplative movement lessons that weave together somatics, QiGong and visual art. These sessions support the expressions of creativity, self-inquiry, self-care and the cultivation of wellbeing holistically.
Hsuan-Hsiu has taught QiGong and contemplative movement practices in Estonia, Austria, France, U.K., U.S.A., India and Singapore. She holds regular QiGong and contemplative movement classes in Tallinn.

Mikk Tamme is an engineer, a business leader, and a curious mind. He has also spent a decade in Buddhist centres and monasteries in Asia and in Europe. Having met some of the greatest teachers around, he learned from them and practised meditation in retreats.
He now lives in Estonia, works full time and focuses on figuring out how to most effectively put the amazing wisdom and methods from the Buddhist teachings of meditation into everyday practice. How to not lose his mind, how to be a kinder person every day, how to have compassion for himself and others also in busyness. Mikk will share what he has understood about the practice of meditation as well as the view that can really make meditation very powerful.
THE RETREAT PLACE
The retreat will take place in Matsalu Creative Space (Salumäe Loovkoda) - a visiting and art centre on the Southern border of the Matsalu National Park. The area is embedded in nature to support focusing on your learning path. In your free time you can deepen your practice in the nearby Salumäe hiking trail.
