Pros & Cons Club: Session 1

In a world of online shouting and black-and-white thinking, come join the club where we practice seeing all sides of an issue and respectfully disagreeing.

Over the course of an hour, we'll work through a list of hypothetical but real-world questions and collaboratively discuss, debate, and list the pros and cons of each. Sides will be determined before the topic is announced, and questions will be formatted as "Should X do Y, yes or no?"

Will you be defending your long-held beliefs or playing devil's advocate? Who knows! Your position will be randomly assigned on issues ranging from pet adoption to international politics. Your personal opinions don't matter, your abilities to think critically and speak kindly do.

Questions can be submitted or voted on in advance here, but what comes up on the night will be a surprise.

This is a friendly event focused on productive discussion and light-hearted debate, curated by host Laurie B.
