Féile na nÚll - the Apple Festival

Come join us in Clara, Co. Offaly for a time travelling weekend preparing for a bountiful Medieval autumn in the Barony of Eplaheimr. There will be campfires, stories and song under the stars, apple shoots (archery), apple bobbing, and hopefully tournaments for fencers and armoured combatants alike. We';; also have ordinary archery, of course. For those more arts and science oriented - Want to see how many shades we can get from Madder? Join in our Great Madder Experiment - participants are asked to bring water from their different areas and we'll mix it up by adding saddening agents to some samples too. Learn about natural fibre cordage and firelighting skills - charcloth making, flint and steel techniques and blowing prepared plant bundles to flame.

We will be hosting a twilight lantern market, so please do consider bringing along items you bake/make/coax into being for sale as the day turns to evening before our campfire bardic circle (in a sheltered customer made spot) .

This is a camping event with plenty of indoor crash space. We have a large hall and a large campsite and a covered campfire venue. We are easy to find and easy to get to by public transport or car. Clara train Station is a very close walk away and Kilbeggan is the closest town served by the Dublin to Galway Bus services. We are about 10Km from Tullamore. There is a B&B in the town and guest houses and hotels in nearby Tullamore if you don't fancy roughing it more than necessary :)

Fees
The cost is as follows:
€35 full price - includes space to either camp or crash on floor indoors, full meals (traveller's fare, breakfast, lunch, feast and breakfast Sunday) and fun activities, including campfire, archery, apple shoot, hopefully a lantern market and anything else we can marshals to help with.

€20 unwaged and student rate for full weekend

€10 Day trippers

Children under 12 go free.
