Description
String quartet M4GNET, consisting of recognized young Estonian musicians, came together in the fall of 2020. Members of M4GNET Quartet have been playing together in various formations (duo, trio and quartet) for more than ten years, but the decisive impulse to create a stable string quartet came from the initiative of the Estonian Cultural Endowment’s new residency program for chamber ensembles, in which the endowment selected M4GNET to participate in the first two-year program. Both violinists of the ensemble play rare stringed instruments, rare instruments have been given to the performers by the Estonian Instument Fund. In June 2021, the ensemble won the first prize at the KraCamera 2021 international chamber music competition organized in Poland (Kraków). M4GNET has been selected to participate in the international string quartet network Le Dimore del Quartetto.
