In early spring, an extraordinary trio will take the stage at the Arvo Pärt Centre. These musicians have only performed together once before, but after this wonderful experience the desire to perform together has only gained stength. Their next concert in Laulasmaa will feature two excellent trios in its original setting for violin, French horn and piano. Horn player Paula Ernesaks and twin sisters Triin (violin) and Kärt Ruubel (piano) will bring an exciting program to the audience, centered on György Ligeti’s groundbreaking work “Trio” from 1982, subtitled “Hommage à Brahms”.
Paula Ernesaks begun playing the French horn at the age of 14 under the guidance of Mari Loiske at the Music institute of Espoo, later graduating from Sibelius Academy under the guidance of Jukka Harju and Tero Toivonen. Her orchestral experience includes both youth and professional orchestras in Finland and around Europe. During 2019 to 2021 Paula Ernesaks was a member of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Academy, the Karajan Academy. Beginning of spring 2022 she has been a permanent member of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Twin sisters Triin Ruubel and Kärt Ruubel are passionate chamber musicians and play an important role in today’s Estonian music life. Both studied at the Tallinn Music High School and later at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre in Germany – Triin under the guidance of Professor Petru Munteanu and Kärt with Professor Matthias Kirschnereid and Professor Stephan Imorde.
